ˈvərsədl/
adjective
- able to adapt or be adapted to many different functions or activities, or
- a woman who can go from being a kickass breakdancer and comedian to a creative, exemplary, and loving aunt and mama
Happy birthday, Aunt Jenny! I’m lucky to share a birthday with you, and even luckier to be able to know you through your kids, who are the perfect testaments to the person you are. Here’s to all the porch conversations and the scooter rides to your Swan Creek house! They’ve made my life all the more fun. I hope you have a great one.
Oh, and I thought I’d stick with my English theme and put a little stanza of a poem, by the great Maya Angelou, in here. I suggest you read it to MC, Anderson, Will, and Pax every night, just to remind them what kind of a woman their mom is.

“...Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing,
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need for my care.
’Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.”
- Maya Angelou
Love,
Liney
